A.J. Locke Review Tour

A.J. Locke Review Tour
Paranormal Romance

Help ghosts, stop a thief, and try not to die…

Necromancer Selene Vanream helps ghosts settle their affairs so they can move on. But when breaking the rules gets her in trouble, she’s bumped down to tracking ghosts trying to avoid the afterlife. Ghosts like Ethan Lance, who claims he was kicked out of his body when someone else jumped in. Which might be plausible—if such a thing were possible. And if Micah, Selene’s partner, didn’t pull her into an investigation of brutal murders that lead directly back to Ethan.

But when the whole mess puts Selene’s life in danger, she suddenly has very personal reasons to get Ethan’s body back. Between her uncomfortable relationship with Micah, and problems with her boss, Selene learns just how much trouble it can be when you don’t follow the rules…

My Review:
From the first sentence of this book I was hooked and didn't want it to end. There was so much to this story, humor, suspense, action, and some romance. I really hope that this turns into a series. Its very fun and unique.
I really like the main character Selene. She has a lot of flaws, she can be extremely selfish and egotistical at times but overall she's a good person. I like how she is just a very strong woman but can still be insecure at times. Plus she was just a lot of fun. She's extremely sarcastic. Its amusing just to see what's going to come out of her mouth.
I love Micah too. He's very hot and cold with Selene but you find out his reasoning's and can't help but root for him.
This was just a very fun adventure and I really hope for more in this. The ending leaves it way open for a sequel that I very much look forward to.

A deadly curse, a dangerous assassin, and one shot to save everyone she loves…

Malachi Erami can’t fall in love. After she’s caught with Knave, the witch Queen’s favorite lover, she’s cursed to savagely butcher any man she falls for. Exiled to live among humans, Malachi runs a bar that serves magic-laced drinks, but since her curse labels her high risk, she’s also closely monitored. Julian Vira is her latest babysitter, but he’s also the first man since Knave that she’s been attracted to. Good-looking and nonjudgmental of her horrible curse? Yeah, he’s hard to resist.

But when Malachi finds a body behind her bar, she knows she’s in trouble. If the Witches Control Council gets wind of it, she’ll be accused of murder and sent to her death. And when her friends start getting framed for murder, she realizes she’s not the only target. Malachi and Julian dig into the evidence to clear her name, but the closer they get to answers, the closer the curse comes to taking over. So when Malachi uncovers a plot to kill the witch Queen, she finds herself suddenly recruited into service, with the promise of having her curse lifted and a reunion with Knave as well. But if she fails, Knave will die. And she and Julian might not live long enough to see that happen.

My Review:
A.J. Locke definitely has a way a sucking you into her books and making you not want to put them down. This was a very unique and interesting world that she spun. Very fairytalesque but incredibly different.
I really like that the author makes very strong female characters. Malachi is no different. She was cursed into a literal "maneater" so she can never develop feelings for anyone or she'll attack them.  She still tries to make the best of the situation and adept to being put into our world more or less. But she still fights for what she believes in and protects those she cares for.
My only real issue with this one was Malachi's feelings for both Knave and Julian. I can understand why she would fall for Julian after five years of being outcast and treated like a monster and he saw her for who she truly is. But she spends all this time mourning and missing Knave that it just left me unsettled. So while I really like Julian it was just hard to root for them to be together.
I really hope for a sequel to this one. It was a really fun world to read about.
I really look forward to seeing what's next from Ms. Locke.

The Capture by Erika Wilde

THE CAPTURE (The Marriage Diaries, Volume #6)
Invitation to Eden
by Erika Wilde
Tour Organizer: N K Author Services

There isn’t much that Jillian Noble can resist when it comes to her sexy, gorgeous husband, Dean.  She’s become very independent in her daily life, but privately, behind closed doors, Jillian finds she loves submitting to her husband’s more dominant, erotic demands.

When Dean surprises her with an Invitation to Eden and promises to fulfill one of her secret fantasies, she can’t wait to find out what’s in store.  While on the mysterious island, she’s auctioned off to a rogue pirate and imprisoned as his slave. What he commands of her is shocking, but there is no denying this dark, forbidden stranger, or the exquisite pleasure that comes with her ultimate surrender.

Erika Wilde (aka Janelle Denison) is the USA Today bestselling author of over 50 contemporary romances for multiple print publishers.
So, why the new pen name?
As Janelle Denison I've always written sexy books, but lately my writing has taken on more erotic elements that I wanted to keep separate for readers because not everyone likes their reading material on the spicier, kinkier side of romance. However, please be assured that even as Erika Wilde, you will still get an emotionally layered story with characters you'll care about and fall in love with. That is always my goal, whether I'm writing straight contemporary romances, or more erotically charged stories.
Currently, I'm working on The Marriage Diaries and making sure that Dean and Jillian enjoy exploring the more erotic side to their marriage. The series will be on-going, with no foreseeable ending as of right now, for as long as readers want to be voyeurs to Dean and Jillian's sizzling new relationship.
I'm also planning a spin-off series in the future, featuring the hot military men that work security for Dean at Noble and Associates. Sign up to receive my newsletter for updates and news!

I have been a writer from the time I was old enough to recognize that reading was a doorway into my imagination. Poetry was my first foray into the art of the written word. Books were my best friends, my escape, my haven. I am essentially a recluse but this part of my personality is impossible to practice given I have two teenage daughters, who are actually my friends, my tea-makers, my confidantes... I am blessed with a husband who has left me for golf. It's a fair trade as I have left him for writing. We are both passionate supporters of each others loves - it works wonderfully...

My heart is currently broken in two. One half resides in South Africa where my old roots still remain, and my heart still longs for the endless beaches and the smell of moist soil after a summer downpour. My love for Ma Afrika will never fade. The other half of me has been transplanted to the Land of the Long White Cloud. The land of the Taniwha, beautiful Maraes, and volcanoes. The land of green, pure beauty that truly inspires. And because I am so torn between these two lands - I shall forever remain cross-eyed.

Review & Giveaway- Guarded Hearts by L.A. Corvill

Guarded Hearts

by LA Corvill

Genre: New Adult Romance

Tour Organizer: N K Author Services

I want nothing but to escape the bitterness and emptiness surrounding me....

I'm, Olivia Rey, a product of an unwanted pregnancy and since that day forward my world has not been easy. My mother's anger at not being able to hold on to my 'father' made her lash out all her hatred and venom at me growing up. So, I did the only thing I could to survive, I enclosed my heart until I can be in the light.

All I want is to be surrounded in darkness to not feel...

I'm, Phoenix Ryan, I have lived a life of privilege with no boundaries making me feel invincible. Then when I was on a high, tragedy came crashing down on me and cast me into a world where I was left numb. So I did the only thing I could to survive I enclosed my heart, so I could walk into the darkness.

Will these two guarded hearts eclipse into each other to find love, or will they be forever guarded.

Hi I am the L in this venture short for Leli. I grew up reading there was no other free entertainment out there aside from television so this was my escape through the years living with my own personal heartaches. I start writing as a way to put my thoughts/feelings on paper, instead of keeping them in. Oh and I'm tone deaf so any music I heard was just for dancing never really paid attention to lyrics still don't.. So all the music reference in this book is A.

Hi all I'm A (Aimee). I've always had a passion for writing. English was always my favorite subject and I love writing heartfelt passages especially since I've experienced so much in my life. I didn't develop a passion for books until a couple of years ago... Thanks a lot to L. Books have brought me an escape from my stresses in life, when I read it takes me to another world.

And I can't wait to bring that when our book project is complete.

My Review:
So I did have some trouble getting into this one at first. It was kind of disjointing in parts and time moved really fast even within just a few paragraphs but once I got about half way through it really picked up!
I really liked both Olivia and Nix. At times they both completely frustrated me and I thought that they were acting irrational or even selfish. But they both have lots of demons to face.
This was definitely a very emotional read with lots of angst and some steamy parts. What started out as a book that I thought I may not like as much as others really surprised me. I'm glad that I stuck it out. It was very deep and heart wrenching at times but a very great read.

My Review:
So I had a hard time getting into this one but I'm glad I stuck through it. Its a very enjoyable believable read.
The relationship between these characters is very drawn out. At times frustratingly so.  But it's very realistic. There's no insta-love. Natalie and Tony actually get to know one another and are friends before they even begin a relationship.
I liked Natalie and Tony a lot. They are both very strong independent people who are facing struggles in their life. At times Tony was very cocky but not in a jerky way. He's just very confident in himself. Natalie frustrated me the most in not going for what she wanted and second guessing herself a lot.
This was a very sweet enjoyable read. At times I couldn't relate to the characters because I'm not a mom or haven't been married and had to deal with divorce. But it was well written and flowed very nicely.

An Arresting Attraction

Burned-out Miami PD detective Paul Cabrera is determined to slow
down. Reporting for a deputy job in Majestic, Colorado, where the most
exciting police work will be writing parking tickets, Paul didn’t plan on
falling in lust with the very sexy Deputy Lanie Prescott.

Lanie Prescott wants respect. But that word isn't in the Chief of Police's
vocabulary. Determined to be taken seriously as a police officer, Lanie
ignores her smokin' hot replacement and packs her bags for a law-
enforcement job in the city.

But an emerging crime wave temporarily puts Lanie back on the Majestic
force, and what began as an arresting attraction between Paul and Lanie
just may become a long-term incarceration of the heart.

My Review:
This was another very enjoyable read from Stef Ann Holm.
At times it was slow moving but I like that she makes the relationships between her characters very realistic. There's a great build up to them actually being together. It can be very frustrating at times but it still is nice to read.
I really like Lanie. She wants so badly to be a good cop. But because she's a female and her boss is very old fashion he won't let her prove herself and get in on the action. So she looks for a new job. Paul and her fit really well together. The chemistry between them was great. He's a really nice guy and I liked him and Lanie together.
This was a very sweet enjoyable read. If your looking for a nice believable story then I would definitely recommend picking this one up.
