This one hooked me from the start. I know many people may be wary that the author was trying to profit from Katrina but that's far from it. You can really feel the love for New Orleans throughout the book. She took a bad situation and made a very emotional but fun book. And DJ the main character is just as much a victim of the hurricane. She's upset over the damage to her home and also literally having to fight monsters to protect it. There's a very fun cast of characters. Fictional and real. I love all the fantasy creature throughout that you hear of or meet. I can see this being a seriously fun series but also very emotional. A new favorite for me.
she did contribute to some fond to help the aera ( with a novella not sure if if this book was uised too for that) but yes we always see how she love it and she is teh one ho made me want to learn more about it and perhaps visit one day
